Services
I provide design and consultancy services. I may advise on and connect you to suitable skilled tradespeople and craftspeople to carry out specific bespoke tasks if needed for your project. This could include joiners, curtain makers, electricians and decorators, to name a few. You will pay these tradespeople directly and you are responsible for all aspects of the works undertaken. I am not responsible for defects in their design, materials or craftsmanship. Furthermore, I am not obliged to accept the return of such bespoke items where your requirements are incorrect, whether in regard to measurements or otherwise.
I don’t advise on building works should a project require them. You will need to appoint a main contractor directly to provide services in connection to the project for all building works. You and your appointed contractors will be responsible for agreeing on an appropriate building contract and agreement, and for securing any planning permission or licences that relate to the project.
I really want to provide you with an excellent and helpful service. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the service provided please contact me by email (hello@beckyhirt.co.uk) within 7 days of an issue arising and I will try my best to rectify the situation.
Project
Before I begin work on a project with you, I will provide you with a written proposal, which is free of charge. The proposal will include a description of the project, the timescales, the outputs, the process and the fees. A proposal is valid for three months after the date it was created. All timescales given in the proposal are estimates, and depend upon you providing any agreed deliverables such as feedback, approvals or payment in a timely way.
Please check the proposal very carefully before accepting it, as all of my designs, schemes and drawings will be based on its contents. You will not be entitled to a refund in the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied due to an issue of personal taste.
If the work and therefore time required on the project looks likely to exceed the fee estimate you’ve approved, I will inform you and obtain your written agreement to a revised estimate before I continue with the project.
You may terminate the project at any time by giving me prior written notice but you will have to pay for any work carried out up to the date of expiry of the notice.
You can book blocks of consultation hours with me. For each set of hours you book with me, you will receive a written proposal. Blocks of hours must be used within a 12-month period, which starts on the day payment is received.
I will not produce a written proposal for pre-booked consultations of two hours or less, but will ask you to provide an outline of your goals for the consultation, so that I am clear on what you hope to achieve.
Design
You will be able to make two rounds of minor amendments to any designs that I provide for you. If you would like to make significant changes to the design in a way that doesn’t align with the original creative brief, the costs of these changes will be charged.
I may supply design drawings on occasion. All drawings (when provided) are for illustration and design purposes only and should not be used for construction. I accept no liability if drawings are used for anything other than the intended purpose of illustrating a design.
Whilst I make every effort to be accurate in all specifications, measurements and product details in the design and any associated drawings, they are approximations only and should not be relied upon.
Purchasing
If required I will advise on and select suitable suppliers for purchasable items. With purchased or bespoke items, you are responsible for checking all specifications are correct at the time of purchase.
I am not responsible for issues of quality, defects in the design, material or craftsmanship of any purchases. I cannot be held responsible for suppliers making mistakes or supplying you with faulty goods. However, I will always try to resolve a situation for you if it goes wrong.
If an item arrives and you are not happy with it, I will help you to try to change it but any associated costs will be your responsibility. Therefore, it is important that you take the time at the design stage to ensure you are happy with the products suggested and that you go and see them in person if possible.
The Sourcebook
This product contains links to third-party businesses. Their inclusion in the Sourcebook does not constitute a commercial endorsement and I am not responsible for the quality of any products or services that you purchase from them.
The Sourcebook is a digital product and all sales are final. Requests for refunds on this product will not be granted.
Marketing
I may photograph aspects of any project as it progresses. Upon completion of any project I request the right to photograph the interiors for use within my website, social media and marketing materials (online and print). Arrangements for a professional photographer to visit the site will of course be made in agreement with you.
I will also request the right to publish a ‘story’ or portfolio case study about the project on my website and by way of social media and marketing materials (online and print).
Your name will not be published unless you are happy to consent.
Payment terms
Any quotes for packages, projects or hourly rates stated remain valid for 3 months from the date shown.
Any fees for packages or blocks of hours should be paid for in full prior to your first appointment. Further fees (if applicable) are charged at a rate outlined in the proposal document and will vary according to the service required. Additional fees will be payable within 14 days of invoice issue. Fee payments will not be dependent on any third party.
All payments should be made by bank transfer.
Invoices for items to be sourced and bought must be paid prior to me purchasing on your behalf. No orders will be placed before payment for such items is received.
If you choose to cancel any bespoke non-package project, all outstanding hours worked are payable, together with all relevant expenses incurred or committed to. I will refund any payment for services no longer required within a period of 14 days.
Cancellation of appointments
If you book a consultation with me full fees are still applicable if you cancel this appointment less than 48 hours in advance. A refund will be made in full if the cancellation is made before this. If you postpone an appointment I will hold onto the fees until the appointment can be rearranged. If I cancel an appointment I will return the fees in full to you.
Copyright
The packages, schemes and designs which I create are my sole and exclusive property and may not be copied, reproduced or used in any capacity without my express permission. All the content of the pages on the website (including pictures, logos, photographs, copy and other materials) belong to me or my technology providers or their respective owners. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Travel
The first half an hour of travel to or from a site will be included in the proposed fee. Any travel which exceeds this will be charged for at an hourly rate of £50. I may also include expenses to cover congestion charges, parking etc where they exceed a reasonable amount. I will inform you of any travel charges in my proposal document.
Confidentiality
I understand that your home is your private space and will endeavour to keep all matters related to your project private in accordance with your wishes. In turn please treat the information in any correspondence as confidential, the information within is for the addressees only and should not be forwarded without my permission from to any other party.
Insurance
I carry professional indemnity insurance cover to a limit of £1m and product and public liability insurance of £1m.
Disclaimer
I do not look to exclude or limit liability for personal injury or death arising from my negligence or for any misrepresentation that is fraudulent.
I am not liable for any loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims for compensation arising from any information or instruction supplied by you which is or are incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate.
I am not liable to you for any unforeseeable loss or damage arising from the provision (or non-provision) of the Services, including loss of profit or consequential loss or damage.
